This folding tray is just the right size to tote napkins, silverware and condiments to your backyard picnic! Made in the USA, originally from the 1950s, this vintage folding tray has been upcycled for use on Independence Day. Both sides of this lightweight tray has been distressed, then updated with my original design and copy. "Fourth of July...let freedom ring" on one side and "Celebrate our freedom" on the other. Original design prints are découpaged with 3 layers of ModPodge, than topped with three protective layers of polyurethane, wet-sanded between layers for a super smooth finish.

I added a piece of denim tied with string to the top of the metal handle; the rest of the handle is chrome plated.

Because the base is vintage, there may be signs of age, random marks and slight edge wear...in this case I have sanded the edges and top to a wonderful distressed look.

About the bases:

Haskelite trays were produced from the 1940s up until 1958. Haskelite Manufacturing Corporation (1917-1958) perfected a way to mold bonded plywood into virtually any shape using pressure and H. L. Haskell's unique waterproof glue. The trays had applied lithographed paper surfaces that were water resistant.

Each side of this tray is 11 3/4" x 7 1/2", and folds for storage. Fully expanded, the tray is 15 1/2 x 11 3/4".
